A Little Note to Say..., Two Challenges

Today I created this card for the flower challenge at Young Crafters Unite as well as the sketch challenge at Card Patterns.  I inked the background behind the flowers, working from the center to the outside edges.  I started with yellow ink, then an orange and finally a red ink.  I drew in stems and leaves with a colored pencil and then used a  white-out pen to  give the impression of  text across the inked page. I inked the flowers, leaving a little white edge as I trimmed around them.  I added gems to the center of the flowers and printed my sentiment on vellum.  I adhered my sentiment with thin mini dots and added  gems to cover the dots.  Inspiration also came from Darlene at Darlene Design. She is such a talented designer and an awesome teacher. Darlene demonstrated a technique that used embossing resist with ink blending.    She used a stamp with text on it to do the embossing resist.  I don't have such a stamp so I adapted the technique and used the "white-out" pen to give the impression of text.

Thank you so much for visiting!
