Inspiration

Inspiration for my card creations come from many sources. This particular card is inspired by my son, who is an avid musician and from The Sketch File. As a member of The Sketch File design squad, Kathy and I share our creations each Tuesday to help inspire others to create. We encourage you to use Kathy's sketch for any type of project. Feel free to rotate it, enlarge, shrink it and make it work for you and then link up with us. We revisit the same sketch throughout the entire month offering inspiration on Tuesdays. Please join us this month!

CASE-ing Christmas

I'm back again this afternoon with another card to post. Thanks to Steph at CASE-ing Christmas for inspiring me to create this card! It's my second card for the current challenge at CASE-ing Christmas.  I was inspired by the layout of her card (I rotated mine) and the snowflake theme. I was also inspired by her sentiment "Dashing Through the Snow" and decided to use the musical score for Jingle Bells as part of my card. It's good to be crafting again. I haven't felt inspired for a few weeks and now I feel like I am back in the swing of things.

CASE-ing Christmas Challenge

Boy oh, boy, have I needed a good dose of inspiration! I've had a couple of weeks where my creativity has been totally lacking.  This morning I decided to take a look at a few blogs and when I ran across the CASE-ing Christmas challenge, I was hit by a wave of creativity.  (Thank you, Steph for the inspiration!) I was inspired by the layout and her use of a patterned paper with text. Here's the card she created that inspired my card:

August Sketch Challenge

Kathy and I are back with a few cards based on this month's sketch. We hope to inspire you to play along with us at The Sketch File. We're using the same sketch all month long and post new inspirational cards on Tuesdays. This week Kathy has a beautiful, dimensional card to share, so be sure to stop by The Sketch File to check it out. I also decided to add a bit of dimension to my card by using some embossed butterflies. It has been a very long time since I last used my heat embossing powders and heat gun. I am not fond of the mess, so I don't heat emboss too many embellishments.

It's Your Turn

It's TUESDAY, which means it's time for Kathy and I to share a few more cards in hopes of inspiring you to play along with us at The Sketch File. Each Tuesday we share new inspirational cards that we've created, based on our monthly sketch. As you can see, I've rotated the sketch in order to create my card. Now it's your turn to use the sketch! It doesn't have to be a card, it can be any craft. You can turn, invert, shrink or enlarge the sketch, whatever it takes to meet your crafting needs. You can hop on over to The Sketch File to see what Kathy's card. Just link up your project before the end of the month. See you at The Sketch File!

Thanks for stopping by today!
Happy crafting!

Birthday Balloons

Okay, so today is really Wednesday according to my computer!  I am currently not working and keeping track of the days of the week is such a challenge!  It's also a new month and time for a new sketch at The Sketch File. I had planned to post this card yesterday to introduce the August sketch , but since I got the days confused, I'm posting it today instead. Kathy creates a new sketch for us every month and we'll post new cards (based on the sketch) on Tuesdays. We hope to inspire you to create a card or two and post them at The Sketch File. We'll use the same sketch all month long, so you'll have plenty of time to show us how you are inspired by the sketch. Please join us!
