The Sketch File "Corner Cluster" Sketch

Yikes, it's already Saturday. I was planning on posting this card last Tuesday, but I had visitors here for the last week and didn't seem to have time to post anything. It's yet another card inspired by Kathy's Corner Cluster sketch. We hope you'll also be inspired by her sketch and will join us at The Sketch File.

Corner Cluster Sketch & a Card

We're ready to see what you can do with our "Corner Cluster" sketch challenge over at The Sketch File! Kathy's  created a fabulous sketch and one that you can embellish to your hearts content. I was poking through my embellishment drawer and came across the mini file folder which I just had to use. I added a bit of "notebook" paper, a few stars,  mesh and the sentiment.  It came together quickly and has already been sent off to a friend.

Silver Bells @ Jingle Belles

I'm playing along with the silver and/or bells challenge at Jingle Belles. I've been thinking about creating a card since I first saw the prompt and then got distracted with a huge pile of yarn that my husband brought home from a garage sale.  I'm not sure what I will do with all the yarn, but it's been fun going through it and deciding which colors I'll use and which I'll donate. Last night I decided to put the yarn aside and create this card. I was determined to use a cardbase that was not white. I seem to reach for white a lot these days. Instead I trimmed and folded a piece of dark green cardstock. I die cut bells from silver paper and layered them on a strip of green cardstock.  The patterned cardstock is from the Bo Bunny Father Christmas collection. I absolutely love the patterns in this collection and it was hard to narrow the choice to this striped pattern. I added the white mat with the pin hole border to help the colors pop.

On the Sunny Side

I've moved across country from the dry, high desert (7,200 feet of elevation) to a humid, subtropical climate (883-1,740 feet of elevation...hardly any at all!) It's been hot and humid, it's rained frequently and we are loving it. We love that we can sit on our deck and enjoy the song birds (very few of these at our last home), the warm sunshine and the gentle breezes. At my previous home, we had a beautiful deck to enjoy and lots and lots of sunny days, but rarely had the opportunity to use the deck because it was always so incredibly windy. It just wasn't relaxing to use the deck and deal with the wind. But, I did spend a lot of time in my craft studio as a result of the windy weather.

Today's  card was inspired by the bright, sunny days we are experiencing here at our new home. The flowers were created with a die from Die Namics called Daisy Bunch. I had purchased it prior to our move across country but didn't really have a chance to create with it because it arrived when we had begun packing up for the big move. I love the die and am eager to create more cards and scrapbook pages with it.

Christmas in July with a NEW Sketch

It's time for a new sketch at The Sketch File and we hope you will be inspired and share your creation with us. The sketch has inspired me to create another Christmas card to add to my growing collection.  The Santa image is one I found on line, but I cannot remember the exact source. I printed the black and white image of the Santa and used colored pencils to add the details. I added a die cut tree, some snowflakes and a few strips of decorative tape. I love how the sentiment is already on the decorative tape!

Please consider joining us for the challenge. The sketch will be available all month long and you can visit The Sketch File for weekly inspiration. There will be new DT cards posted each Tuesday.

52CCT July Sketch

Hmmmm....what to do with time on my hands in July? ....Make a Christmas card of course!  I'm playing along with the July sketch challenge at 52 Christmas Card Throwdown! As soon as I saw the sketch, the idea of using Santa's suit popped into my head and I HAD to go create it! I love it when I feel so inspired! Thanks for the great sketch Tanja!
