Unscripted Sketches has a fabulous sketch this week. My take on the sketch is this dragonfly card. I punched a series of dragonflies in cream cardstock. Then I trimmed the cardstock to match the sizes of the images in the sketch and inked around the edges. Next, I poked holes around the border of each strip with a needle and adhered the images to the cardbase with dimensional adhesive. I stamped happy birthday onto cream cardstock, inked the edges and adhered it to the cardbase. Then I tied a length of embroidery thread around the left edge and tied a bow. Lastly, I adhered a cream colored piece of cardstock inside to use as a writing surface.
Supplies:
Cardstock: Bazzill, Punch: McGill, Needle, Ink: Studio G, Embroidery Thread: DMC, Adhesives: Scrapbook Adhesives 3d Foam Squares, Scotch ATG

ReplyDeleteDragonflies are my favorite, Brenda - thanks for linking up at Unscripted Sketches this week!
ReplyDeleteThis is such an awesom color to use with a dragon fly punch! It just seems to work! The paper piercing really adds definition to the sketch elements and of course the embroidery cotton, with the lovely silky sheen, is the perfect finishing touch to this awesome card!
