Extravaganza Sketch at The Sketch File

Life has been pretty busy around here. My family is packing up for a big move across country and I am training my replacement at work. I am eager and excited for the upcoming move. In anticipation for our big move, I planned ahead and created this card a few weeks ago, knowing that I would be too busy to create something for our weekly sketch challenge at The Sketch File. The sketch that inspired this card was created by Kathy. It's a fun and challenging sketch.  Instead of layering circles, I decided to cut a circle in the card base and then layer clouds and a hot air balloon around the hole. I wanted to give the feeling that the hot air balloon was floating. I also rotated the sketch to give the impression of more height. Right now, I'm wishing all my craft materials were more accessible, because I have other ideas for this sketch floating around in my head. But...they will have to wait until we reach our destination and I've had time to unpack my supplies. In the meantime, I hope to see what other's are creating with Kathy's sketch.  So, what do you think? Are you inspired and ready to create with the sketch? If so, please post your creation with us over at The Sketch File.

May "Extravaganza" Sketch

Here's another card for our current sketch challenge at The Sketch File. This is one of those sketches that Kathy created that has me thinking of unlimited ways to use it. I hope you feel just as inspired as I have been and will share your creation with us at The Sketch File. Remember you can rotate the sketch if you'd like or choose a square or rectangular card base.

"EXTRAVAGANZA" @ The Sketch File

It's time to share another card for our current EXTRAVAGANZA Sketch challenge at The Sketch File. Kathy's sketch is fun to work with so we hope you take a few minutes to create something and share it with us. I am still trying to create a bunch of Christmas Cards for 2015. I haven't counted the number of cards I have already made that are Christmas themed. All I know is that I have a growing pile.

May "Extravaganza" Sketch

I have been so very busy! Here it is Thursday and I am just getting around to posting a card I created based on our May "Extravaganza" sketch at The Sketch File. Kathy has another clever sketch for you to work with and as you can see I kept my interpretation quite simple. I simply used a die to create the flowers and layered them at the edge of an oval opening in the front of the cardbase. Please join us this month and let us see what you've created with the newest sketch. See you at The Sketch File!
