Jingle Belles: A Very Vibrant Challenge

I'm  just bouncing back after feeling unhealthy for the past two weeks. When I'm ill, I sleep. I've slept so much that I was beginning to wonder if  I could stay awake for more than 10 minutes! The good news is that I CAN! I was able to complete this card this morning (followed by yet another nap).  Fortunately, the card came together quickly. It's inspired by the current "A Very Vibrant Christmas" challenge at Jingle Belles and Steph and Lauren's inspirational photo at right.

First, I was inspired by the colors. I loved the contrast of the bright pink, green and blue colors against the white "snow" and table cloth. Since I didn't have metallic papers of a similar color, I reached for cardstock.  I noticed the lovely scalloped edge on the charger plate, so I used decorative scissors to scallop the edge of the pink embossed cardstock. I embossed the cardstock with a floral pattern that had a dandelion image. If you look just behind the deer on the left, you can see that dandelion like image embossed in the cardstock. This reminded me of the green ornament hanging from the candle stick in the photo.  Of course, the deer in the center of the photo inspired me to use deer on my card. I gave my deer a bit of dimension by adhering them with dimensional adhesives. I also included a tree, inspired by the pink tree in the photo. I used white cardstock instead of pink so it would pop and work better with the white deer. Lastly, the snow on my card was inspired by the polka dots on the ornaments.
